I originally bought this silicone channel for a lighting project at a local bar, but the project ended up getting cancelled.
I still wanted to test it, so I put a short RGB strip inside and powered it up on my workbench. The silicone feels pretty solid and the diffusion is much better than I expected.
One thing I noticed is that my phone camera makes the individual LED spots look more obvious than they do in person. To my eyes, the light looks much smoother.
Installation was easy too. The strip stayed in place and I could remove it again without much trouble.
Honestly, I may end up using it for a project at home now.
Thanks for sharing the test.Phone cameras can sometimes exaggerate individual LED points, especially with RGB strips. The final appearance also depends on LED spacing, strip type and the size of the silicone profile.For an even smoother light line, a higher-density or COB strip can help reduce visible hot spots.

I wanted softer lighting under my kitchen cabinets and didn't really like seeing the exposed LED strip.The silicone channel made it easier to keep the light line straight and gave me the softer look I wanted.What I liked most was that I didn't have to fight with feeding the strip through a really long channel. I could insert it pretty easily and make small adjustments as I went.I didn't need a lot of bending for this project, but the housing is definitely flexible.One thing I would recommend is checking the width of your LED strip before ordering. Once I confirmed mine would fit, installation was pretty straightforward.

After trying this with a couple of LED strips, I think expectations matter.The silicone housing definitely softens the individual LED dots, but it doesn't magically make every strip look completely seamless.With a regular LED strip, I could still see some of the individual points, just much less harsh. When I tried it with a COB strip, the result was noticeably smoother.Something I didn't expect was how much it helped with reflections. My countertop has a glossy finish and exposed LEDs created a pretty harsh reflection. With the silicone housing installed, the reflection looked softer and less distracting.So for me, the biggest improvement wasn't just the light line itself — it also made the whole installation look cleaner.
This is a very fair description.Silicone housing helps diffuse and soften visible LED points, but the final result still depends heavily on the LED strip itself.High-density and COB strips generally produce a smoother continuous line than low-density standard strips.The diffuser can also help reduce harsh reflections from glossy countertops, tile and other reflective surfaces.

Yes, the silicone housing can be cut to the length required for your project.We recommend measuring all sections before cutting and planning the LED strip, wiring and end treatment at the same time.For outdoor or moisture-exposed installations, the cut ends and connections also need to be sealed properly to maintain protection.
